Streets and Infrastructure
Last fall, Tulsans voted to make an historic investment in our city’s infrastructure. The massive, $451.6 million
Fix Our Streets program is still in the planning stages, but the 5-year project is set to begin in just a few short
months. I believe this project is crucial to our future, and will require the best we have to offer in accountability
and strict oversight. I pledge to act as a watchdog over the project, both for our district, and the entire city.
Economic Development
As a small businessman overseeing the daily operations of a restaurant, I talk to people from all walks of life. Of
course, the economy is often a hot topic at Ike’s Chili, and especially so lately. I know that Tulsans want
ongoing economic development that supports small businesses, eliminates bureaucratic hurdles and spurs growth and
investment for our future. I will work to see that the city acts as a partner, not an adversary, to our small
businesses.
Public Safety
Clearly, the city’s most vital role is providing adequate public safety. I believe we must provide better
funding, resources and training to our excellent police and fire departments. Not only do these public servants deserve
our respect and admiration, they deserve our strong financial commitment. Further, keeping our citizens safe and secure
must remain a top priority despite whatever economic challenges arise.
